FULL TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 4
BARCELONA 0 Wow. I think we may just have
witnessed a watershed game in European football.
Barcelona's pretty patterns were swept away by a
wonderful display of pacy, direct running and clinical
finishing. With Bayern Munich today announcing the
signing of the best non-Bayern player in Germany
and awaiting the arrival of Europe's most feted
manager next season, this could be the start of
something very special. Of course, they still have to
close out this tie and win the final, but Barcelona
suddenly look like last year's men. Messi wasn't fit, and
they had some rough luck with a couple of refereeing
decisions, but make no mistake: Barcelona have been
given a hiding here. This tie is over, the question now
is how the Catalan giants can bounce back next year.
For the meantime, all hail Bayern Munich for a
magnificent all-round effort: when you've got the likes
of Arjen Robben charging around the field and hurling
himself into tackles, you know that everyone is 100% on
board. What a performance. Thanks for following it
with us . Goodnight.
