Hollywood star, Kerry Washington, 36, and San Francisco 49ers corner back Nnamdi Asomugha, 31, are married, according to a copy of their marriage license obtained by reporters.
The pair secretly held has wedding on June 24 in Hailey, Idaho. Witnesseswere listed as her parents.
The couple began to date last summer, according to sports gossip site Terez Owens, which first reported the news that caught many by surprise.
The marriage is the first for Washington, who hasn't been known to publicly speak about her personal life in recent years.
Shortly after splitting from fiancé David Moscow, the actress said in 2007,"I was always that girl who was in long-term relationships, and I was never really single. I had always met guys in other ways and never really did the whole dating scene where you go out on multiple dates with different guys."
"I am totally the girl who gets introduced to someone through a mutual friend and a dinner party, falls in love and then is with them for like two years."
Asomugha was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Nigerian Igbo parents, and raised in Los Angeles, California.
